Ever wondered what it takes to design a wedding for millions of viewers? We sat down with Heather from Fashionable Florist, who joined a national team of designers to pull off the ultimate floral feat for four weddings during Love is Blind Season 10. The Secret to Designing Florals that are Camera Ready
When designing for the screen, the rules of floristry change. Heather explains that subtlety simply wasn’t part of the brief. “Everything had to read clearly on camera, which meant the florals needed to be larger than life,” she notes. Because dramatic arrangements can actually look small on screen, the team pushed the scale to ensure the designs translated perfectly for viewers at home. They focused on massive visual moments like ceremony installations and statement areas to carry each scene.
Amber & Jordan

For Amber and Jordan’s romantic, lush aesthetic, it was all about achieving a “growing naturally” feel.
- Expert Advice: If you are obsessed with an organic, overgrown garden style, ask your florist: “Can the arrangements look like they’re growing naturally out of the space?”.
- Pro Tip: Always ask to see examples of past weddings where the florist successfully created an overgrown garden style.
Ashley & Alex

Ashley and Alex opted for a monochromatic white wedding, a style that can easily fall flat if the textures aren’t varied.
- The Design: To prevent the ceremony flowers from falling flat, the team used hundreds of hydrangeas but created negative space so the flowers had movement. Anemones were added to define the installation with a modern edge. Their staircase continued this contrast by using hydrangea and white gerberas to keep the design visually interesting.
- Expert Advice: Don’t rely solely on traditional white blooms like hydrangeas. To keep an all-white design from looking plain, have your designer focus on different flower shapes and textures to create dimension and intention.
Christine & Vic

Christine and Vic’s wedding was one of the most visually striking designs of the series. As Heather describes it, “Standing in the room felt like stepping into a luxury department store window display at Selfridges in London or Bergdorf Goodman in New York.“
- Design Elements: The entire setting had a “theatrical quality” driven by draping and oversized paper flowers. While paper flowers are gaining popularity, they require a designer who “understands scale and placement” to create a dramatic focal point
- Last Minute Pivot: The original plan featured groupings of anthurium and amaranthus, but when an exceptional batch of Italian Denalii anthurium arrived, the team pivoted their design on the fly.
Emma & Mike

For Emma and Mike, the team leaned into depth and drama with a dark color story.
- Expert Advice: Don’t fear dark colors like forest green or black. When designed well, these palettes create incredible depth and drama.
- Trust Your Designer: Heather’s ultimate advice is to reflect who you actually are rather than trying to look like everyone else. Trust your floral designer to do what they do best; leaning into something bold is far more memorable than playing it safe.
How did the team keep the quality so consistent while building so many different looks? Heather explains it was “very much a pressure-cooker environment” where they were “building, flipping, and resetting designs in extremely tight timeframes.” Success came down to a “shared standard” and “unspoken level of trust” within a community that regularly collaborates on large-scale events. By allowing designers to “focus on areas where they work fastest and strongest,” the team moved quickly while “protecting the design integrity of each wedding.”
While the production pace was intense, it was the quiet moments between the room flips that left the biggest impact. During the teardown of Vic and Christine’s wedding, Heather witnessed a sincere, private exchange that the cameras didn’t catch. She overheard Vic speaking with Christine’s mother, promising her, “You’ve taken care of her up until now, and it’s my job now to do so.” For Heather, this genuine moment, away from the audience and the production lights, proved that the couple was “the real deal.”
