Inside Wed Society® | Houston’s First-Ever Book of Weddings: First Look Event

Every year, our Book of Weddings gives us the chance to celebrate the incredible couples, stories and local talent that make Houston’s wedding community so special. This year, we wanted to take that celebration one step further.

For the first time, we hosted The Book of Weddings: First Look Event at Hotel Saint Augustine, bringing together couples featured in our newest issue alongside engaged couples still in the midst of planning.

It was an evening built around the people at the heart of Wed Society — celebrating newlyweds and hearing what it meant to see their own wedding in print, while connecting with soon-to-be newlyweds about their planning journey, the inspiration they’re gathering and how they’re using Wed Society along the way.

A Glimpse Into the Evening

The First Look Experience

Hotel Saint Augustine set the tone for the evening with its intimate, design-forward atmosphere and effortlessly cool Houston feel. Guests enjoyed passed champagne and bites while flipping through the new issue, mingling and taking in the evening.

The Tiffany Effect Collective helped coordinate the details, while Fashionable Florist added beautiful floral touches throughout the space.

Guests could create a custom scent with Perfume Bar Experience, snap a keepsake through our 360 Events Photo Booth complete with metallic prints and Wed Society® | Houston branding, and dance along to J&A Entertainment, who kept the energy going all night.

Before heading home, guests received a Wed Society tote filled with the newest Book of Weddings, a few fun extras and a sweet treat from The Flour Petal Bakery.

And of course, we had an incredible team there to capture it all. Sage Rochelle Photography, GoodTime Weddings, and Heart of Haddad documented everything from the beautiful details and behind-the-scenes moments to the mini-mic reactions that made the evening feel so special.

Celebrating the Stories Behind the Pages

One of the sweetest parts of First Look was hearing directly from couples featured in the new issue, along with those still in the middle of planning.

  • “It’s gratifying to see us in print! We put so much work into it… and it just feels like a good way to end this chapter of newlyweds.”
  • “It made me very emotional because we represent a part of Houston that sometimes doesn’t get highlighted.”
  • “Wed Society helped me plan with lots of inspo! I was always looking at the different vendors and the creativity from other weddings.”
  • “I’ve looked at the 2025 book many, many times… it’s really a great resource for brides.”

It was such a full-circle moment — celebrating the couples whose weddings are now inspiring others while hearing how future brides are already using Wed Society along the way.

A Little Extra Celebration

We also teamed up with three amazing Houston businesses for giveaways throughout the evening:

  • Klein’s Jewelry — a generous store credit to put toward something special from their collection
  • The Engagement Boutique — an in-store experience to find the perfect Little White Dress, plus bridal earrings
  • Sonoma Wine Bar — a private sommelier-led wine tasting for a memorable night out

If any of these businesses aren’t already on your radar, consider this your sign to check them out!
