Eclectic Texas Desert Wedding From Joseph West

Manuel and Colt were married in an eclectic Texas celebration, captured by the incredible Houston wedding photographer Joseph West Photography. Wanting to share their favorite place with their favorite people, the couple opted for an intimate gathering of their closest friends and family, with a ceremony in the desert and a reception to follow in the Thunderbird Hotel’s Capri venue. Crisp white linens and large monstera leaves contrasted with the industrial concrete walls with natural light pouring in and banners hung overhead, transforming the space into something both stunning and inviting. Both Colt and Manuel incorporated touches that reflected their personalities and upbringings, from their accessories and different colored suits to a variety of desserts and a mariachi band for entertainment. Every boho detail of this eclectic Texas wedding inspires us to dream big and embrace the idea of a destination wedding right here in Texas. Cheers to this dapper couple!

From the grooms: “Our wedding day was a celebration of 10 years of love and companionship, and it was a reflection of our personal styles – approachable and eclectic, with a mix of urban and country vibes that reflect our upbringing. We also wanted to share Marfa with our favorite people since it is our favorite place. We have been heading west multiple times a year for the past 11 years and honestly are so mesmerized by the landscape, the art and the people there. We were very relaxed the whole wedding day as we didn’t have a wedding party to coordinate. We felt as though all of the people in our lives are equally important and wanted to keep it as simple as possible, with attention to entertainment, food, experience and the landscape. Our favorite part of the day was driving west on Highway 90 just outside of Marfa for the ceremony arrival and seeing the crowd of friends and family waiting for us in the desert. We had a location about 1/4 mile off the main road where everyone was waiting for us and as we approached, our mothers met us halfway to walk us down the aisle… that’s when it felt real!”
