One Couple’s Vibrant Garden Party Micro Wedding In Their Houston Home

Vibrant and oh-so-mod in style, this garden party micro wedding more than makes up for in style what it lacks in size! Ashlyn and Luke tied the knot in a tasteful, intimate ceremony captured by Mustard Seed Photography that took place right in their home, but we could have sworn these weddingscapes were set in an art museum. The two were originally to be wed in a September garden soiree with around 150 guests. When COVID-19 started shifting their plans, though, they decided to get back to the essence of why they were even having a celebration in the first place, which was to share their union with those they love. In hopes of keeping their high-risk loved ones safe, small and intimate became the goal, and bride Ashlyn says hosting it at home kept things even more special and family-oriented.

“We learned to be flexible and focus on the real reason we were getting married in the first place.”

On the day of, Ashlyn walked down the stairs with her dad to Louis Armstrong’s version of Edith Piaf’s La Vie En Rose to see Luke and both parties’ families standing in a semi-circle surrounded by gorgeous, vivid florals. They said their vows and “I do,” then came the perfect opportunity for everyone to share a speech for the newlyweds. A smaller celebration doesn’t have to mean less fun, and this couple made sure their garden party micro wedding included plenty of dancing fueled by delicious catering and bartending by A Fare Extraordinaire, who adapted several custom menu ideas for the couple including a very special signature cocktail – the Negroni Bianco Bergamotto! They certainly made the most of their pandemic wedding, and look so happy to be married in stunning shots around their home’s breathtaking architecture both inside and out. Read on for a note from the bride about one of her favorite wedding day memories. Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Burns!
