Bohemian Wedding Weekend With Multiple South Asian Religious Ceremonies

This bohemian wedding scene was the perfect mixture of the bride and groom’s different religions, resulting in a weekend long celebration full of culture and close family and friends! After having to significantly restrict guest count due to covid, Arushi and Jaspreet were just happily to finally have all of their loved ones in a place to celebrate their love together with a weekend long celebration planned by The Storybook Event. To start off the festivities, the bride and groom had a traditional Haldi Ceremony and Mehndi Night – a Haldi Ceremony is where family members apply haldi (tumeric) to the bride and groom to bless them before marriage, while a Mehndi Night is where the bride has henna applied to her hands and feet in preparation for the wedding. Both celebrations were a party, full of enjoying food, music and dancing before their Sikh wedding the next day. As the final celebration, Arushi and Jaspreet had their Hindu ceremony, which included blush details and boho pampas grass accents throughout. During this ceremony is where bride Arushi says her favorite memory comes from – “Until the point that I was walking down the aisle, so much of the wedding had seemed abstract and surreal. But in that moment, it all began to hit me as I saw all of our family and friends present to witness this major milestone in our lives. And just when the nerves began to kick in, I looked up to Jaspreet standing at the mandap with the biggest smile, making me feel ever more grateful that we didn’t push this day out any further. We had always known we wanted to spend forever together and this was finally our beginning.” Scroll to follow along from celebration to celebration all planned by The Storybook Event. Cheers to the Singhs!

From the bride on her most helpful vendor: “Our wedding coordinator, Amy from The Storybook Event, was so helpful to us throughout the whole process and a key piece to making our day run so smoothly. Amy made sure that we had all the necessary details worked out before the day, and more importantly, ensured that everything was executed the way we wanted on the wedding day.”
