365 Love Letters: Vintage Wedding Editorial Inspired by ‘The Notebook’

So the story goes, Noah wrote Allie a love letter every single day they were apart in “The Notebook,” which happens to be one of our favorite romantic tearjerkers and the inspiration behind this vintage wedding editorial captured by the talented Brianne Johnson Photography. Abundant romance plays out before our very eyes at Ashton Gardens | North Houston where the whole weddingscape had an air of true magic about it that only love (and cinematic beginnings) can create. We may not have gotten to see it happen in the movie, but we imagine this is essentially what Allie and Noah’s coastal South Carolina wedding would look like! Inspired by the 365 letters he wrote to her, this 1940s styled shoot in sky blue hues is oh-so-fitting for a pair of love birds and includes details like a cheery invitation suite with all the elements of timeless southern prep, plus a hand-lettered love note by Joyful Soul Calligraphy so your words can look just as beautiful as what you have to say. Live wedding painter Brushed Script managed to capture a unique, whimsical view of this vintage wedding editorial inspired by “The Notebook” that can be cherished for generations and passed on when you tell your children the wild story of your star-crossed love.

In addition to this beautiful long-sleeved and lacey gown from EVOKE: the bridal experience, our bride modeled the perfect vintage glam look styled by hair and makeup artists from Bridal Beauty Tribe in sweet pin-up curls secured with a jeweled hairpiece and paired with a classic red lip just like Allie would wear. Roses in shades of peaches and cream blend with pastel blue hydrangeas and other florals from A Different Bloom in her bridal bouquet and nestled about the scene while, all around, décor and rentals from Love Birds Vintage brought a sense of coziness while providing the perfect lounge area for couples to enjoy cocktails, or a slice of this delicately decorated three-tiered design from Marblelous Cakes with gold leaf details. From classic whitewashed and antique decor to bespoke calligraphy and cake details, this vintage wedding editorial takes us back to the first time we saw the Nicholas Sparks film. Read on for a note from the calligrapher behind Joyful Soul Calligraphy for more about this styled shoot and its intricate, “The Notebook” inspired design. Cheers!

From Adrienne with Joyful Soul Calligraphy: “This invitation suite is for the bride wanting a soft, romantic experience. The color palette of grey-blue, forest green, peach, cream and black is perfect for a subtle, vintage feel. Brides, don’t forget the details! I take pride in writing love letters, vows and any other keepsakes special to your heart.”
