An Al Fresco Autumn Dinner Party with Muted Tones & Refined Details

Weddingscapes we will never get over: this al fresco dinner party with muted tones and refined details set on the lush grounds of The Annex! We can practically feel fall in the air and can’t help but “fall” in love with this Seasons of Love editorial showcasing the best cozy, warm aspects of autumn all wrapped into one stunning reception scene captured by FR Weddings. Botanical touches from Edges Wild Studio give off a wildflower-reminiscent feel in coordinating colors with tabletop details from Party Time Rentals that add an edgy, sleek touch for the perfect juxtaposition of overall elements. The paperie pros of She Made It Like That created a dainty detailed custom invitation suite that captured the feel of this scene to a T! Besides bringing a sophisticated touch to more than just the mailbox, place card leaves with the same minimalist details added a little fresh touch to each place setting and also made for the most unique centerpiece details. Our model bride’s gown from Evoke: The Bridal Experience was the undeniable best choice for an al fresco day and the bridal glam experts from Etoilly Artistry complimented it perfectly with muted peach hues and a soft, glowy makeup look and low bun. The Flour Petal Bakery created a decadent cake with different heights to create some visual interest, adorned with dried florals, peonies and ranunculus for an eclectic mix of fall and fresh elements. Scroll to see all the muted, refined details of our Seasons of Love – Fall editorial and to watch the incredible video by The Drakes. Cheers!

From the florist, Hannah with Edges Wild Studio: “I used a variety of golden and mustard yellow tones blended with some neutral creams, and then colorblocked against their complimentary deep plums, accented with fawn-brown ingredients like the velvety undersides of some preserved magnolia leaves. Purple and yellow are two flower colors that often appear together in nature, especially in meadows, and I love playing with variations on the theme, and then softening them with the spectrum of golden browns, which can blend so beautifully with the more saturated yellow tones for a rich, sophisticated, and yet wildflower-reminiscent overall effect. For the tabletop vessels, since we were working with a long rectangular farmhouse tables on which the real estate for flowers down the middle tends to be somewhat limited, I used narrow glass vessels wrapped in strips of a golden-brown preserved leaf that looked almost like parchment paper, which then worked as a balancing agent to the lush, elegant floral material. Since this reception concept was set outdoors, I wanted to bring in a natural material that would pick up the ambient colors and textures of the grounds at The Annex, and make the flowers feel like they belonged in a relaxing rural setting. Vessels are such an important ingredient in floral design, as they can really act as a thumb on the scale in the direction of either a more or less formal (or more or less ‘natural’) aesthetic impact.”
