Classy Courthouse Elopement in Houston

What’s more romantic than a classic courthouse elopement set city-side in Houston? We truly couldn’t say! Alexandra and William first crossed paths in 2017 during a night out with friends while they were both attending the University of Houston. The pair later saw each other at a football tailgate and ended up watching the game together. The rest, as they say, is history! When William decided the time was right to pop the question, he told Alexandra they were going to dinner with his sisters back in his hometown of Beaumont, TX. They set out for dinner and began driving through a wooded neighborhood where Alexandra says she thought the restaurant might be hidden. William finally stopped at a nearby field where he had a whole picnic setup waiting, and he got down on one knee to ask Alexandra to marry him. The two married in a lovely courthouse elopement ceremony at the Houston Courthouse followed by photos around the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center!

“I loved getting to spend the weekend with just my husband and me. We were able to enjoy one another’s company and celebrate our big day in our own unique way.”

Their mid-September courthouse elopement captured by Natalie Nicole Photo was everything a small-scale elopement should be – effortless and neutral but oh-so-classy! Alexandra and William went about it in the sweetest way possible, celebrating their love with just the two of them before a judge where they were pronounced husband and wife. These shots capture so much raw emotion from the small moments exchanged between the newlyweds throughout the day. Read on for a note from the bride about why she and her groom chose a courthouse elopement for their nuptials! Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Gavrelos!

From the bride: “With all the big changes going on around us, we thought it would be perfect for the two of us to step back and enjoy one another’s company and enjoy this time just the two of us. It brought us closer together and is something we will never forget.”
