A Houston Corona Couple So In Love They Tied The Knot Twice

This Houston corona couple loves each other so much, they were married twice! Caitlin and Eric tied the knot once on their original day surrounded by immediate family and once at the venue of their dreams, with both days captured beautifully by Weddings by Westy. Love in the time of COVID-19 is not for the faint of heart, and rescheduling and rebooking vendors has left many couples high and dry on their big day, but Caitlin says luck was on their side when replanning their reception! “Our date was set for May 23, 2020,” Caitlin said. “That was the day we counted down to for years. We held our hope as long as we could but ultimately we had to make the decision to postpone our big day due to COVID. That was the hardest choice we have ever had to make together.” But together they absolutely made it, and their amazing vendor team made the change as seamless as possible! Love is so prevalent in their romantic rustic wedding and we love the delicate blue palette, sunflowers, and plentiful baby’s breath making the whole affair feel so light and airy. With sweet, sentimental details around every corner, we aren’t sure the Mitchells could have planned a more perfect day. Read on for a note from the bride about what it was like postponing the wedding of their dreams. Cheers to Caitlin and Eric!

From the bride: “My husband and I got engaged on November 22, 2017, in front of Cinderella’s castle at Disney World. It was a real dream come true! We were both in college at the time and decided to hold off our wedding until 2020 to give ourselves more time to save up for our dream day. We found our venue and knew it was ‘the one’ right away. Our date was set for May 23, 2020! That was the day we counted down to for years. We held our hope as long as we could but ultimately we had to make the decision to postpone our big day due to COVID. That was the hardest choice we have ever had to make together. Our lovely vendors made the change as seamless as possible and I can’t thank them enough for that. We made the choice to get legally married on May 23rd. I literally found the dress I wore the night before our wedding. We held the ceremony at the gardens on Texas A&M’s campus and only had immediate family and Westy there. Although we got married that day, we decided to keep it a secret. We still haven’t mentioned it to people unless they ask. To us, that date was THE DATE and will always be our wedding date but it was not the wedding we wanted to have. We held our second big day on June 26th. With everything going on, it still felt so surreal to marry my husband (again). All of our vendors worked with us and made that day absolutely perfect. It was definitely worth the wait. And hey, we didn’t have to worry about getting the marriage license signed or forgetting it. I also get to say that my husband loves me so much he married me twice!”
