We had been planning to take a trip to Wallowa Lake in Oregon with Colton’s family, and the trip just so happened to coincide with our 2 year anniversary. I remember during the year telling a couple of co-workers that if Colton was going to propose, the Oregon trip would probably be when! But as our trip came closer, I tried putting that out of my head because he made it seem like it would be a very normal trip. We spent some time in Portland and road-tripped across Oregon to the lake, where we spent time with his family kayaking, tubing, horseback riding and playing cards. Saturday, July 15th was when the family was going to take a tram and hike up Mt. Howard. Some family members at the top were already taking pictures of the view, I was doing the same! As I was taking pictures, Colton put his arms around me and turned me around to face him. His family members were still taking photos and videos of what I thought was the view – until he got down on one knee! It turns out the whole week EVERYONE knew he was proposing to me and I had absolutely NO idea! I was very pleasantly surprised and of course said yes! We had a great afternoon eating lunch at a local brewery and shopping in Joseph afterwards. Being proposed to on top of a mountain was an experience I will never forget. I am so excited to marry my best friend in less than 6 months. I can’t imagine anyone else I’d rather do life with!
