Late Summer Wedding With A Contemporary Color Palette

Karoline and Evan first met in their 8th-grade history class! The two continued to be friends throughout junior high and high school but didn’t make anything “official” until their senior year. Then, they both went to Ole Miss and dated all throughout college where they made lifelong friends, memories and grew even closer. When it came time to tie the knot, COVID-19 altered their original spring wedding plans just ten days prior to the event. After allowing the initial shock to wear off, bride Karoline and her mom set out to use what they had and continue making adjustments that would reflect a romantic, late summer wedding. That was exactly the look they achieved in this timeless, sophisticated affair captured by Kati Hewitt Photography and filled with a rich, contemporary color palette of deep plum, ivory, ballet and bordeaux. European elements added a touch of luxe and sentimental details sweetened it all up – Evan walked down the aisle with a family heirloom handkerchief that was carried by six generations before him. Karoline reminisces on the magical walk down the aisle, claiming that nothing could compare! “I don’t think anything can come close to the moment when you lock eyes with your person, walking down the aisle, while simultaneously seeing grins from those who support and love you,” she said. Planning and design coordinated by Love Birds & Co. kept things running smoothly all night long and every scene was perfectly set with gilded décor and luxurious rentals. Despite a global pandemic, everything fell right into place for this romantic and contemporary late summer wedding. Read on for a note from the bride about one of her favorite wedding vendors and what made them so special. Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Hakes!
