This cute couple first met back in their freshman year of high school. Movie dates grew into more until they finally gave each other a real shot. The rest, as they say, was history! Kevin knew the importance of loved ones to Shanise, so he gathered over forty of their closest friends and family for a romantic, emotion-filled proposal in Bay Town Square. Now, in their modern classic wedding, a palette of forest green, gold and ivory introduced guests to the elegant Tuscan Courtyard where Shanise and Kevin had their big day! Accommodations on-site meant that they could begin the getting ready process bright and early, and after crossing a bump in the road caused by her makeup artist cancelling last minute, Shanise’s planner scrambled to find her a replacement artist the morning of. It all worked out beautifully, though, and before she knew it, they were having their first touch! Both bride and groom said it helped to build anticipation, while their officiant prayed for them and their future marriage. After some picture taking, Shanise took her place at the alter while the groomsmen and bridesmaid’s lined up for the ceremony. Kevin says his favorite wedding day memory was seeing Shanise walk down the aisle, especially since he had been asked so many times leading up to the event if he would cry or not. He always answered that he was doubtful of course, but the groom says as he stood up there surrounded by loved ones saw her walking towards him in her her fittingly beautiful dress, the tears just started flowing. The two locked eyes as they exchanged vows and shared a sweet kiss to seal their marriage. The excitement and emotions were running high among the crowd as the pair walked down the aisle as newly pronounced husband and wife. Guests were prompted to make their way into the reception and after Shanise and Kevin snapped some photos, they made their entrance and were simply in awe at all the loved ones that came together to celebrated their special day with them. As the night carried on, the newlyweds and their partygoers ate, danced, and couldn’t help but wish that the moment would last a little longer. Read on for a note from the bride about one of her favorite wedding day memories from her modern classic wedding day. Cheers to the Powells!
