Moody Romantic Barn Wedding from Joseph West Photography

Elegant chandeliers, white washed wood and soft blush hues get a vintage style makeover with the dream-like lighting of Samantha and Shane’s moody romantic barn wedding from Joseph West Photography. A color palette of soft neutrals complemented by baby pinks created an ethereal vibe to the Chandelier Garden backdrop. Bridesmaids in glittering petal-esque dresses were the perfect complement to the bride in her airy strapless tulle gown from Brickhouse Bridal. Bouquets, table arrangements and altar embellishments of giant full-bloomed roses, peonies and hydrangeas made for delicate organic decor, even adorning the nearly naked four-tier cake from Buttercup Bakery. We can’t get enough of these sugary sweet details!

From the bride: “There were so many special and beautiful moments on my wedding day that I will forever treasure, but seeing Shane for the first time is probably my top favorite. When they opened the doors for me to walk down the aisle, I looked straight for Shane. And he was looking straight at me. Immediately, he was crying so hard. The good kind of crying, the kind every little girl grows up hoping a man will cry for her on her wedding day. The kind that made me cry back with joy, because in that moment, I felt totally assured that I was completely adored, and I knew this man really was going to love me forever.

Another one of my favorite moments from the wedding day was the first dances. I danced with my dad while Shane danced with his mom. Then, I had a special first dance just with my brother. My brother and I have always had a very special relationship. When I was 12 and he was six, he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. This terminal diagnosis changed our family in a lot of ways. For our dance together, I chose a song called called Brothers by Penny and Sparrow because the chorus repeatedly says, “don’t give up.” I told my brother I picked this song for him and reminded him I’ll always be there for him, no matter how hard it ever gets, and that him and I are never going to give up fighting this together. In the middle of our dance, we just stopped dancing. We stood still and hugged and cried and had to end the dance early. It didn’t matter to me that we couldn’t finish our dance. What was more important to me was that moment and our relationship, and it’s a moment that will forever remain special to me. Our videographers and photographers perfectly captured this moment too, and I’m grateful I forever have a visual reminder of this in film.”
