Romantic Outdoor Styled Shoot Turned Surprise Proposal Captured by Courtney Leigh Photography
November 27
In an unsuspecting magical twist on a styled shoot, this romantic outdoor wedding shoot-turned-surprise proposal was nothing short of a true fairy tale brought to life! With a plan to help surprise the model bride, Jade Magnolia and Courtney Leigh Photography teamed up with the help of other talented vendors to seamlessly guide this “simulated” styled shoot into a full-blown engagement! Held on the lush, woodland property of a private residence, the team played up the naturally earthy elements of the backdrop, keeping any additional colors to a dreamy palette of powdery blue, navy and touches of glittering gold. Blush and Vine’s overgrown greenery arrangement included fresh blooms of roses, dahlias and others in shades of ivory and the softest pale blush to serve as both table decor and the soon-to-be-bride’s bouquet. A watercolor layered caked in pale blue and flecks of foiled gold from Buttercup Bakery was embellished with the same blossoming pale pink florals and shined as a centerpiece all on its own. Keeping with the blue hues, the model-turned-real bride was perfectly on trend, donning a stunning two piece ensemble by Alexandra Grecco featuring an old-world romance inspired high-neck lacy top and airy tulle skirt with a silk ribbon belt, paired with strappy metallic heels. Keeping her hair and makeup more natural-looking, Hey Lovely created a loosely pulled back, soft swept updo, secured with a glittering gold leaf-shaped brooch. We love the look on the model bride’s face as her soon-to-be groom swoops in for the big proposal moment—such a sweetly captured shoot for this couple!

From the photographer, Courtney Leigh Photography: “This beautiful wedding inspiration shoot was inspired by earthy elements, neutral tones and pops of gold and dusty blue. The best part? This styled shoot romantically turned into a real life proposal for the sweet couple, Chalie and Andrew. It was such a memorable moment to capture and the moments following the proposal are my absolute favorite images from the shoot. This one definitely goes down as an all time favorite of mine throughout my photography career and so many talented teams helped bring my vision to life.
We chose a private residence in Montgomery, TX for the location of this shoot, after finding out just days before the shoot that Andrew was actually planning to propose, I knew it needed to be a secluded location where he would feel comfortable make this dream a reality! I just adore this sweet couple and it was an honor to capture such a special time in their lives!”
