Tram and Toan met at a luncheon in 2012, but didn’t begin dating until two years later. The day before Tram’s birthday the couple was vacationing in Italy. Tram thought the pair was set to go on a private tour in a small town on the Almafi Coast, but Toan had bigger plans. The tour guides were actually photographers and captured the most picturesque proposal when they pulled over to enjoy an incredible view of the city and coast.
The wedding was full of tradition and began with the Vietnamese tea ceremony. Tram wore a traditional but modern red Vietnamese dress. The groom and wedding party lined up with offerings of tea, fruit, gifts, jewelry and cakes. Then, the groom’s parents knocked on the door officially asking the bride’s parents for permission for their son to marry their daughter. The most memorable moments happened during the formal tea ceremony where they said prayers for their ancestors’ blessings and the parents welcomed the bride and groom to their families.
