Rustic Romantic Wedding Captured By Sarah McKenzie Photography

How swoon-worthy is this rustic romantic wedding captured by Sarah McKenzie Photography? Sara and Christian were married at Balmorhea Weddings & Events in a serene lakeside ceremony, with soft blush and white florals from Bramble & Bee adorning the altar and carried by the beautiful bridesmaids. Sara wore a chic gown with a sweetheart neckline from Brickhouse Bridal and her leading ladies donned an effortless look with makeup by Adorne Artistry. Touches of gold popped up throughout the reception decor, from the picture frame wall of table assignments to the seed packet favors. Guests dined on Café Natalie cuisine atop the pristinely set tables with gold chargers and more of those beautiful blush blooms. Planner Nicole Fischer helped Sara and Christian to blend rustic and romantic seamlessly, with pops of eye-catching metallics making this celebration really sparkle. We can’t get enough!

From the bride: “They say one of the sweetest moments of your life is when your spouse makes first eye contact with you at the top of the aisle, and they’re SO right. It was such a special start to our religious ceremony. We had a string trio perform, several of our favorite Bible passages were read, and we performed the sand pouring tradition with maroon and white sand (#gigem). Once the ceremony was over and cocktail hour started, it was so much easier to relax!

Our music style for dinner was classic and modern – we really wanted to loosen people up and create a calm atmosphere for guests of all ages. We actually got to eat some of our food at dinner (does one bite of potatoes count?!), and we absolutely adored all of the speeches given. After making our rounds to greet family and friends, we were on the dance floor with our guests and didn’t leave until the final song! We finished out the evening with all of our family and friends dancing and lip-syncing to ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’ by Journey! As everyone was filtering out to prepare for our sparkler sendoff, my husband and I enjoyed our final dance of the evening alone. It was, by far, the greatest part of our reception, and it was a memory that only we get to share outside of our guests.”
