High school sweethearts Ky Ayn and Clayton show us how a simple modern wedding makes an elegant statement. Ky Ayn and Clayton met in a small town outside Waco, Texas. Ky Ayn describes her little town as a place where everyone knows your business before you even know it. Therefore when a cute new boy moved into the neighborhood the summer after Ky Ayn’s sophomore year, it became the talk of the town. All the other girls introduced themselves to Clayton, but this type of introduction wasn’t Ky Ayn’s thing. Clayton still gives her a hard time being the only girl in the neighborhood who didn’t introduce herself. However, on Christmas Eve of Ky Ayn’s junior year and Clayton’s senior year, Clayton officially asked Ky Ayn to be his girlfriend. Over the next eight years, the two attended Texas A&M, made new friends, graduated, and got jobs. Finally, after being together for nine years, Clayton popped the question in Century Square on New Year’s Eve. Ky Ayn squealed with a “yes,” and the two began planning their simple modern wedding.
Ky Ayn and Clayton’s simple black and white color palette with accents of gold are modern and all things elegant. The couple’s outdoor ceremony overlooking a vineyard at The Weinberg was such a romantic setting for the high school sweethearts to say “I do.” One of Ky Ayn’s favorite memories of the day was walking down the aisle with her dad. Ky Ayn’s backless gown and natural makeup with effortless curled hair from Etoilly Artistry made for a show-stopping look as she walked down the aisle. After the two exchanged vows and became one, it was time to celebrate! Their reception space inside a rustic barn turned modern and sleek with rentals from Party Time Rentals. In addition, grand chandeliers hung over the tables where guests ate and enjoyed each other’s company.
