From the bride on how he proposed: “Christian could probably tell the story better than I could because he had the whole weekend planned to perfection. However, from my point of view, it was a weekend full of smiles, love and a wonderful time together. I thought that we were going on our November birthday trip to Charleston, since we are both November babies, but he had bigger plans for us. On our second day, we went shopping on King Street for the perfect ‘birthday dress’ since my birthday was the next day. Little did I know, it was the dress that I would get engaged in. I wasn’t timely about picking out my birthday dress, so Christian patiently watched me twirl around in numerous dresses. Then we found three of ‘the ones.’ We got back to our cute little bed and breakfast, and I heard our 1966 Mustang Convertible pull up for Christian to take me to my ‘birthday dinner.’ In retrospect, this is my favorite part of the trip! I was sitting in the passenger seat, soaking up the beautiful weather, my handsome guy and the joys of life on that day. He was looking at me, the girl that he was about to propose to, with the sweetest smile. I should have known! We arrived at Middleton Place Plantation, and we ate my favorite meal (cheese) and drank wine. We saw Clydesdale horses, swan lakes, thousand-year-old trees and beautiful gardens. Then we arrived at a place that I’ll never forget. I told Christian that it was a stunning place, and that I would love to get married there – which was a perfect transition for him to get down on one knee and ask me to be his forever. There was no hesitation, and there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to be the future Mrs. Christian Latham! I said, ‘Yes!'”
