Tips for Managing Frizz in Houston Humidity

“We’re not just in Texas, we’re in Houston!! — and our humidity is no joke. My biggest recommendation is to come with your hair round-brush blow dried either the night before or the morning of your wedding (as long as it’s 100% dry before you sit in the chair). A round-brush blowout smooths the cuticle, removes excess moisture, and creates volume. That extra smoothing step helps reduce frizz once we style it.

If your hair is naturally prone to frizz in humidity, choosing a hairstyle that works with your texture instead of against it is key. Sometimes the best anti-frizz strategy isn’t just product, it’s selecting a style that works with the Houston weather.”

What’s Your Favorite Bridal Hairstyle?

“I don’t necessarily have one favorite style — I love when a bride chooses something timeless.

Think:

Soft curls worn all down
A classic half-up, half-down
A traditional updo

Nothing overly sleek, nothing overly textured

Trends are fun, but bridal hair should stand the test of time. I want you to look back at your photos in 20 years and still love your hair, not think, “Oh wow… that was so 2026.” For bridesmaids, I actually love when they have a little fun. Being a bridesmaid is the perfect time to try that trendy updo or sleek ponytail you wouldn’t normally choose — as long as it still fits the wedding vibe!”

Should I let my bridesmaids choose what type of makeup look they want?

“Having everyone in the same hairstyle can look beautiful — but it’s not required for cohesive photos.

When it comes to makeup, I always remind brides that:

Every skin tone is different
Every eye shape is different
Every face shape is different

Even if everyone uses the same lashes, blush, or eyeshadow, it won’t look identical on each person — and that’s okay. I recommend setting a general direction, like:

‘Natural glam’
‘Soft and romantic’
‘Bronzy glow’
‘Half up, half down’

Then let each bridesmaid choose what makes her feel confident within that framework. Cohesive doesn’t have to mean identical.”

The Most Requested Bridal Hairstyle

“The most requested hairstyle (for brides and bridesmaids) is hands down half up, half down. It makes total sense, It’s elevated from everyday hair, but still in your comfort zone! If you’re unsure what to do, half up/half down is a safe but beautiful option.”

Rhiannon’s Go-To Bridal Beauty Products

“Here are a few staples I genuinely love:

  1. A lip color for touch-ups- I love Charlotte Tilbury lip products. They fade beautifully and photograph well. I usually recommend a lip liner + gloss combo. Pillow Talk is popular, but they have so many beautiful shades if you don’t love that one.

  2. Kenra 25 Hairspray-This is my go-to strong hold spray. A little goes a long way, and you can grab it at most grocery stores or beauty supply stores.

  3. Proper skin prep- There’s no one-size-fits-all routine, or product, but everyone should be moisturizing and hydrating their skin. Lately we’ve been loving Rhode Glazing Milk for prep on many skin types.

  4. Extensions (even if you don’t ‘need’ them)- Extensions add fullness and help styles last longer in Houston humidity. Extension hair often holds curl better than natural hair. You can find great quality options on amazon for under $100.

  5. Foundation favorites- My personal favorite is Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk for that natural skin-like finish. For fuller coverage that still looks like skin, I love Haus Labs.

(Exact recommendations may vary after a trial once I see your skin and hair in person!)”

How She Got Started in Bridal Beauty

“I got my first curling iron in second grade. I have two younger sisters, and from the moment I got it, I had more fun curling their hair than my own. In high school and college, I was the go-to girl for hair and makeup for every event. One day in my college dorm, a friend told me, ‘You’re really good at this. You should just do this.’ And I thought… okay, why not? I worked for a hair and makeup company I admired all through high school and college and stayed with them for about seven years before starting my own company a few years ago. Bridal beauty has truly been my heart for a long time.”

Booking, Deposits + Travel Fees Explained

“Yes- we require a 50% deposit upon booking, and we do have a travel fee ( a $50 minimum).

Why the travel fee? – From the moment we leave our homes until we return, that entire block of time is dedicated to you. Even a ‘quick’ 30-minute drive can easily turn into much longer in Houston traffic. Our team members also live all across Houston, so travel varies.

Why the deposit?

Brides book 12+ months in advance. When we reserve your date, we turn away other inquiries. If a wedding cancels close to the date, it’s often impossible to rebook that Saturday. For many of us, bridal weekends (Friday–Sunday) are our primary source of income. The deposit secures your date and guarantees our team is fully committed to you.”

When Should You Book Your Beauty Team?

“A year in advance may sound crazy- but it’s very normal. For example, in December 2025, I already had bookings for February 2027. Busy seasons (especially October, November, March, and April) book up extremely fast – especially Saturdays. If your wedding falls in peak season, I highly recommend securing your beauty team as soon as you book your venue and photographer. That said, always reach out, cancellations and date changes do happen!”

Skin Prep Tips for Brides + Bridesmaids

“Without a trial, it’s hard to give highly specific advice — but three things are universal:

Light exfoliation
Consistent moisturizing
Internal hydration (drink your water!)

Even oily skin can be dehydrated. Sometimes excess oil is your skin overcompensating for dryness. And please- wash your face at night. Always remove your makeup before bed. Healthy skin creates the best makeup results.”
