Happy New Year’s Eve! In honor of tomorrow’s holiday, we’re reminiscing on the top Houston wedding decor trends we saw throughout 2018, both in the pages of the inaugural Brides of Houston mag and our site! Weddings and styled shoots this year showcased so many thoughtful and inviting decor ideas. Scroll below to see a few of the trends we loved most, and stay tuned to see which ones will make their way into 2019 celebrations! Cheers!
Velvet
Velvet had quite a moment in 2018, popping up everywhere from linens to lounge areas. This luxe fabric is also super versatile and works well for both casual and elegant affairs – no wonder we saw it everywhere this year!

Seeing Green with Signage
One unique trend we noticed in 2018 was the merging of gorgeous signage with fresh greenery! You could go so many ways with this trend, and it’s such a fun way to kick your signage up a notch and incorporate more florals throughout your ceremony and reception. What’s not to love?

Cozy, Casual Seating
We can appreciate the Houston wedding decor trends that keep things casual and carefree, and these seating options do just that. Rather than stiff, cold seating, Houston planners and brides opted for more inviting options to keep the atmosphere cozy!

Weathered Rustic Tables
The farmhouse style was alive and well in 2018, and one element of that particular style made its way into a plethora of Houston weddings: the rustic farmhouse table. Weathered wood was often left exposed, with brides opting for runners and floral details instead of linens to leave the focus on these beautiful pieces of furniture!
