Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across Houston, all courtesy of the immensely talented wedding vendors and lovely couples who submit to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one spectacular wedding to highlight, one that stands above the rest for its uniqueness and beauty.
This month, we’re featuring Natalie and Johnathan’s classic, elegant and rustic affair. The couple chose timeless black and white touches to adorn their special day.
How the Couple Met
Natalie and John’s romance began in 2019 through two mutual friends. “John just graduated from Paris Junior College and was in the process of transferring to Lamar University for baseball,” writes the bride. “His best friend from Paris Junior College was dating my best friend at the time and they encouraged us to reach out to each other.”
In a funny twist of fate, the couple began dating while living in each other’s hometowns. John resided in Beaumont while Natalie began planting roots in College Station. Though living apart for a time, the couple’s love only grew.
“Our first date was a Parker McCollum concert at Hurricane Harry’s in College Station, and we’ve been inseparable ever since,” writes Natalie. They celebrated their union with a winter wedding on January 12, 2024.
The Wedding Day
Natalie and John’s wedding day began with a morning of getting ready. The bride and her maids received top-notch hairdos from the experts at Beauty Babes. “We listened to Christian music, wedding songs and throwback jams while getting ready,” Natalie writes. “The bridesmaids all surprised me with personal notes and photos of us, which got the tears rolling for the day. We truly had such a great bridal party, and we are so thankful for our people.”
After PJ pictures with her best gals, Natalie shared a first look with her father and grandfather. “These were such special moments I will cherish forever,” she writes. “Then, John and I did our first touch and private vows before the ceremony. We were so happy to be together again, but waited until I walked down the aisle to see each other.”
With anticipation building, the ceremony began at 4:00. John watched his bride walk down the aisle, and the two said “I do” to a future together. “ Our ceremony was Christ-centered and we prayed, laughed and cried,” writes Natalie.
After pictures and cocktail hour, the couple made their grand entrance to their reception. With rentals from Premiere Events, the space exuded a festive atmosphere — perfect for dancing all night long! Thanks to Cinematic Saviors, Natalie and John get to relive their day over and over.
Natalie & Jonathan’s Favorite Moment
“We snuck away to do our cake cutting, and it turned out to be our favorite memory from our wedding day! We didn’t want cake cutting to be announced, but we still wanted anyone who wanted to come watch to join us. This was what made it so fun — having everyone around us, cheering us on and laughing with us. I never thought this would be such a core memory, but I will forever cherish it.”
