Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across Houston, all courtesy of the immensely talented wedding vendors and lovely couples who submit to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one spectacular wedding to highlight, one that stands above the rest for its uniqueness and beauty.
For July, we’re showcasing a springtime wedding with plenty of color. Ashana and Corey tied the knot on May 23, 2024. Scroll to see all the beautiful details!
Incorporating Culture
Ashana and Corey’s nuptials honored each of their cultures in various ways. Ashana, who was born in India, incorporated little touches of her Indian heritage throughout the day. While the couple celebrated with a traditional American ceremony, both bride and groom had an outfit change for the reception.
“I wore a custom lehenga and he wore a sherwani from India,” writes Ashana. “Both our mothers wore sarees, and my bridesmaids wore lehengas that I designed and had stitched in India!” For the reception, Ashana and Corey had their family, friends and wedding party learn choreographed dances. They had a huge dance party at the end to celebrate the newlyweds!
The Wedding Day
Ashana and Corey’s wedding day was full of gorgeous pastel florals in shades of pink, coral, purple, and blue. They adorned tables, the ceremony cross and welcomed guests to the King wedding with a lovely arch. It wouldn’t have been possible without the experts at Monica’s Brides & Touch of Glitz Flowers.
Along with stunning floral arrangements, the couple hosted family and friends in the beautiful Peach Orchard. High ceilings, white walls and a beautiful chandelier made for an airy space full of natural light. The reception space was equally beautiful, with vaulted ceilings, gray beams and sparkling chandeliers.
Thanks to EP Wedding Films, the couple’s special day was captured on video, giving them a well of memories to look back on! Among their favorites was their first look with each other. The bride describes it as a “full circle moment” for the couple, who also shared private vows with one another.
