On May 19, 2023, Hallie and Matthew tied the knot surrounded by dark wood, exposed brick and stunning chandeliers. Their color palette of black and ivory paired with greenery and gold accents makes for a wedding that has modern elegance written all over it.
How the Couple Met
It’s college move-in day and sophomore football player Matthew is helping freshmen unload their cars, move furniture and unpack boxes. Among the many fresh faces, one stands out: a girl named Hallie. “I remember seeing Hallie and thinking she was the most beautiful girl,” writes the groom. “I thought, no way she would go for me.”
Although Matthew doesn’t remember if he helped Hallie move in that day, he interacted with her throughout their college years. The two hung out in adjacent friend groups and their paths crossed several times, but the relationship didn’t take a romantic turn until after graduation.
Matthew moved to Midland, TX for work while Hallie made her way up to North Dakota to start her career. They were miles apart, but still shared a connection through a mutual friend. A couple years after graduation, this mutual friend reached out to Matthew with exciting news: “Hallie’s moving to Midland and she’s interested in you!”
Remembering Hallie’s beauty, Matthew was ecstatic. As they say, the rest is history. The couple began talking and dating immediately after Hallie’s move to Midland, and they have been inseparable ever since. Their wedding took place on May 19, 2023.
The Wedding Day
The day began with pampering and primping. Hallie and her seven bridesmaids sat down with the talented artists at Blooming Beauty Company to get their hair and makeup done. Each woman glowed, with the bride herself radiating confidence and beauty.
The ceremony and reception both took place at Iron Manor by Walters Wedding Estates, a venue that pairs modern industrialism with avant-garde. Iron Manor made for the perfect backdrop to Hallie and Matthew’s wedding, which aimed for a classic look with modern elements.
Adding to an already gorgeous venue, F. Dellit Designs provided florals for the couple’s special day. White, ivory and green filled the ceremony and reception halls, giving a timeless touch to Hallie and Matthew’s special day.
