Get in a little bit of exercise

Starting off the morning of your wedding with a little bit of exercise is a great way to help you work off some nerves for the day ahead! Don’t push yourself too hard – the goal here is to give yourself a little energy boost, not take all of your energy for all the festivities of the day to come. Some exercises you could do are taking a walk, yoga, or a couple of body weight exercises like planks, squats or lunges. Getting yourself moving is the perfect way to wake yourself up, get motivated and get yourself prepared for your best day ever!

Take a shower

After a workout, you’re going to want to take a shower to get yourself squeaky-clean before you go to hair and makeup and put on your beautiful dress! Even if the morning workout isn’t a step you see yourself doing, showering the morning of your wedding still needs to be an essential step you take. If you wake up anxious or nervous for your day, showering in the morning can help you calm those nerves. Taking a colder shower can increases your intake of oxygen levels in your brain, leading to decreased stress levels. For a more therapeutic, spa-like effect, taking a warm and steamy shower the morning of your wedding will relax your nerves and muscles, relieving any headache or muscle stiffness you may be feeling in the morning.

Center yourself

While you may have done everything physically to calm your nerves, you still may be feeling a little anxious for your big day – this is where having a little time to yourself in the peace and quiet comes in! Taking time away from the craziness of the day may be exactly what you need to find a little peace. Step away from your bridesmaids, turn off your phone and find a quiet room to center yourself. Whatever this may look like for you – whether it’s meditating, reading a devotional, or praying – it’s SO important you put yourself and your mental health first on your big day. Everyone is there to support you and you’ll only have the best day if you are centered and mentally ready!

Eat breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of any day, especially including your wedding day! Fueling up with a substantial breakfast is essential for giving you energy to make it through the day-long celebration, with also the goal to not be bloated or uncomfortable. While you may be tempted to avoid eating before your wedding in fear of not fitting into your dress, eating the right foods the morning of your wedding will actually do the opposite. Starting your wedding day with a piece of toast with almond butter, blueberries and a sprinkle of cinnamon will give you calories, while also digesting fast enough to not leave you bloated. Sugar and caffeine are also highly recommended to be avoided – drinking that cup of coffee may lead to jitters and making you more anxious, shaky and even more sweaty. Staying hydrated is KEY – make sure you’re drinking water every chance you get!

Top three things to avoid on your morning of wedding breakfast:

  1. Starches
  2. Sugar
  3. Caffeine

Have an emergency wedding day kit

The last thing you need on your wedding day morning is a wardrobe malfunction, stained dress, chipped nails or a dead phone – but, lucky for you, you’ll have everything you need to put out those fires in your emergency wedding day kit!
