From the planner, LNC Weddings + Events: “This editorial shoot was inspired by Edgar Degas paintings and romantic-era ballet, and with a ballet background myself, it was further inspired by a ballet called ‘Les Sylphides.’ I was specifically inspired by that piece because it was created in the 20th century (not the romantic era) but drew inspiration from both romantic-era ballet, and modern dancer, Isadora Duncan. The piece was a modern take on romantic and classic style – which was exactly what I wanted this shoot to be. I also wanted to reimagine the way a bridal look could be modeled and portrayed, and with this design concept in mind, it was very important to have a professional dancer to model. We were fortunate to have McKhayla Pettingill of the prestigious Houston Ballet (corps de ballet artist) for this ballet-inspired shoot.”
