Airy Butterfly Garden Wedding Inspiration

Plan the airy, outdoor affair of your dreams with the help of this dreamy butterfly garden wedding inspiration held at The Orchard at Caney Creek! Embellished with everything that makes a garden wedding great – think fun, fresh color palettes, floral patterns and textures, plus butterflies (oh my!) – we hardly know where to begin. A teal tablescape serves as the perfect backdrop for elegant gilded details as well as wild, springy floral installations by Jackie Trejo Floral Design in fun, fresh multi-colored arrangements. Ranunculus, lisianthus, hybrid delphinium and Queen Anne’s lace stand out in a crowd of unique and vibrant flowers, and we love the way they inspire the buttercream hand-piped floral design on the blue fondant base of this gorgeous creation from Cakes by Gina. This bride models stunning hair, warm bridal makeup and a bold berry lip by Adorne Artistry that all pairs perfectly with her simplistic chic gown and romantic floral-trimmed veil from Belle Âme Bridal. Talent is so obvious in Kati Hewitt Photography‘s gallery that captures the true romance of the day as well as darling details like place settings and linens among other décor from Avalon Event Rentals that set the stage for the perfect garden wedding. Read on for notes from the florist, cake baker and the hair and makeup artists about the vision behind this butterfly garden wedding inspiration and how they created the look. Cheers!

From Melanie of Cakes by Gina: “The cake is covered in dusty blue fondant. Flowers are hand piped and painted on the cake in colorful buttercream icing. The butterflies are made of wafer paper. We love adding different shapes to wedding cakes such as the hexagon tier in that cake.”

From hair and makeup artists Kristi and Jessica of Adorne Artistry: “Our model Ruby has the perfect hair for a soft and elegant low pony, and we added romantic face-framing pieces to keep the look more whimsical. We created a warm neutral color palette for her eyes with the perfect amount of lashes to make her eyes pop. We added a dewy glow to her skin and a pop of color on her lips – she’s picture-perfect for spring!”

From the florist, Jackie Trejo Floral Design: “The tablescape was my absolute favorite element. It was inspired by the butterfly vine that I unexpectedly took notice of in my mother’s garden the weekend before the shoot. Now I see it all over my neighborhood and it literally makes me feel butterflies in my stomach – the perfect inspiration for this butterfly garden editorial! I used a vast variety of florals for this shoot: assorted roses, peonies, Ranunculus, lisianthus, hybrid delphinium, hellebores, Queen Anne’s lace, stuartiana, campanula and so much more!”
