With the overall goal of tying the outdoor garden ceremony into the indoor reception, abundant hanging greenery and blush accents, along with a few gold details, make the connection between the two to seamlessly flow from one to the next. Double Oak Events assisted with the mood lighting of the evening, as well as playing the right tunes, to ensure the couple had a memorable evening at every moment from walking down the aisle to their grand exit. Giving us an inside look into how to bring the garden indoors, Lillie Jane Designs walks us through the planning process for Courtney and Richard’s wedding day, from the couple’s vision for their big day down to the lovely details shown throughout. The Inspiration: Classic Garden

From Lillie Jane Designs: “The overall goal was to bring the garden inside, tying the outdoor garden ceremony into the indoor reception. I developed Courtney and Richard’s design using the venue’s lush green hedges as our base. We wanted to make the floral look as if it would naturally bloom out of this already stunning backdrop. For the ceremony, we made the focus a soft gold modern rectangular arch covered in mixed mauve roses and pops of greenery across the top. We paired the arch with two oversized urn arrangements of the same blend of floral to add a touch of charm that you might find in the garden or yard of a glamorous mansion or castle. Lastly, we lined the aisle with lots of ivory petals that looked as if they could’ve blown there on their own. For cocktail hour, we had to transform the naked trellis patio of the pavilion into a garden of its own. We lined the ceiling of the trellis with fresh greenery, hid the poles with romantic ivory drapes, hung crystal chandeliers, and added a classy champagne lounge. We also moved the urn arrangements from the ceremony to the champagne lounge. It was the perfect, elegant transition to our indoor garden reception.”

Grand Cakes

“The groom splurged in the cake department since he is a big sweets fan and foodie, and boy, did he do well! The main cake was classic, yet still a piece of artwork tying perfectly to the entire wedding. We went with a few additional faux layers to give a grander height and delicately placed the matching floral cascade.”

Lush Floralscapes

“The bride, Courtney, wanted a classic, romantic, garden wedding that would read as perfectly elegant to her guests. She’d already filled her Pinterest board with wedding inspiration of lush floral arrangements, greenery EVERYWHERE and subtle, but romantic, candlelight after sunset. Like me, she leaned into classic, vintage touches like pearls and ornate crystal, too. The groom, Richard, just wanted a design that would give his bride the ‘WOW’ she deserved and a couple details tied to the bride’s Louisiana heritage.”
