This Couple’s History Finally Led to a Colorado Proposal

Brande and Rey make the perfect pair in heartwarming scenes captured by Brandon & Lindsay Lutz Photography for their Houston engagement session. The two go way back – they first met in high school but didn’t actually start dating until college. Eventually, they both worked as student assistants for the same office and spent a lot of time together. Brande and Rey developed a strong liking for one another quickly and officially began dating in June of 2016! Fast forward just a bit and they will finally be tying the knot this September. The couple plans for a sage green and neutral affair, with so many incredible details but Brande says apart from getting to marry her best friend, she is most excited to get to wear her wedding dress! We just know she will look radiant and we can’t wait to see the wedding that comes after this Houston engagement! Read on for a tear-jerking note from Brande about how Rey popped the question. From the soon-to-be-bride on how he asked: “Rey and I took a weekend trip to one of our favorite places in Colorado, the Rockies! That morning we headed off to the mountains and began our hike up to Sky Pond, but little did I know this was going to be the wildest hike of my life. Not only was there a snowstorm that had just passed through, but I also was not wearing the right hiking shoes! Midway up the hike, I wanted to call it quits and head back down but Rey insisted we keep going, and that he was going to help me along the way. So up we went. When we finally reached the top, we obviously had to take a few pictures to document the moment. As soon as we were done taking our picture together, I looked over to Rey and saw him getting down on one knee to pop the question! I was honestly so surprised and overwhelmed with joy at that moment! Of course, I said ‘YES’ and sobbed like a baby! It was perfect.”
