Romantic Sailboat Engagement Session on Lake Ray Hubbard

Carly and J.P. love being on the water together so it was only fitting that they incorporate Carly’s dad’s Jeanneau 419 Sailboat in their Lake Ray Hubbard engagement shoot captured by Patti Darby Photography. The two first met through a student ministry organization at Texas Tech University and attended a conference they sponsored in Oklahoma City. There, they were introduced by mutual friends and started talking, eventually leaving the conference unsure if they’d reconnect again. However, Carly said she knew instantly knew that he was just the type of man that she wanted to marry! She finally did in August following their romantic sailboat engagement session. Carly and J.P. tied the knot in an elegant and timeless vineyard wedding incorporating a palette of pearl white, olive green, champagne, and hints of pink. While trying to capture a winery look, they also incorporated lemons as a fun touch which was a happy coincidence since their wedding fell on Lemonade Day! One of their favorite details of the day was their ritzy getaway vehicle – a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud with a license plate displaying their new shared last name that made for beautiful old Hollywood-style pictures. We can’t wait to see them celebrate the love they so obviously share in their sailboat engagement session. Read on for a note from now-wedded Carly about how J.P. popped the question. Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Madison!

From the bride: “My fiance proposed on his family’s ranch on December 19, 2020 and the day was magical! I spent the day in his hometown getting ready for a ‘Christmas Party’ that would take place on his family’s ranch in Burnet, TX. I had a feeling that day that the proposal might be happening, but he had a good poker face when I asked him straightforwardly. Lol! On the way to the party, he drove us into a new entrance through the ranch and I saw lights twinkling in a tree from a distance. He drove us to a spot that overlooked a pond, walked me to the twinkling lights, and got down on a knee. He was so sweet and it was perfect! After the proposal, we walked up to the house and all of our family and friends were there. We had the best night celebrating and laughing with our loved ones!”
