Lauren and Rush’s Union Station affair featured antique gold elements, blush and candlelight throughout to set the scene for the perfect vintage elegant wedding captured by Kelli Durham Photography. Sunkissed and Made Up did hair and makeup for Lauren and her bridesmaids, who donned sweet blush dresses complemented by soft white hydrangeas and classic light pink roses from Events in Bloom. Lauren’s gown featured a lace sweetheart neckline mirrored in the back with a vintage button style, and a stately brass mirror with hand-lettered table assignments directing guests to their seats in the grand hall. From the bride: “The day of our wedding was sunny, dry and 75 degrees. It was truly the perfect spring day in Houston. Rush and I were so excited to see each other. The whole day leading up to the wedding was flawless – stress-free and full of celebrations. Rush and I chose not to have a first look because we wanted to save that first moment when we saw each other as bride and groom for when I was walking down the aisle toward him. When he saw me, he teared up, and I will never forget the way he looked at me. Our ceremony was so personal and special.
After that, it was onto our reception! My florist surprised me with a long floral runner that ran along our head table. It was extravagant! After dinner and some very special toasts from my father, my maid of honor and the best man, it was time to dance. Dancing was my favorite part of our wedding day, hands down. All of our guests were on the dance floor with us. Events in Bloom brought in plush couches, chairs and side tables, which lined our dance floor to allow our guests to rest but remain on the dance floor with us. It was truly the best day of our lives and everything we had ever dreamed and hoped it would be!”
