Husband-and-wife wedding photographer duo Brandon & Lindsay Lutz Photography love helping couples in front of the camera laugh more and worry less about where their hands should go. Film class sweethearts, total opposites and new parents to a sweet baby girl Ellie, these two know a little something about once-in-a-lifetime moments, and they live to capture them in shots that you will have to share with your friends and family for years to come! We asked Brandon & Lindsay Lutz Photography a few questions about their style, favorite moments to capture and more, and boy did they deliver! What is your photography style?

We are photographers that capture bright and airy images full of joy. We are drawn to simplicity, natural colors and images focused on people rather than backgrounds. When we take photos, we feel it is important to tell people exactly what to do with their hands so they don’t feel awkward.

What was your favorite detail from this shoot?

We LOVED the details and small pieces of this shoot! Specifically the dress and veil, the invitation and the cake! Its 3D shape and texture was one of the most unique things we’ve ever seen!

What sets you apart from other photographers?

We believe wedding days should be full of joy, stress-free and all about two best-friends beginning their next adventure in life. We are hands-on when helping our couples dream up their perfect wedding day. We help bring together a team of vendors that will serve their needs well. By doing this, we make a connection with these couples that lasts far beyond their wedding day!

What advice do you have for an engaged couple who are searching for a wedding photographer?

1. Decide what is important to you. Choose a style of photography, and decide on a budget. What things are most important to capture on your wedding day? What images do you see in your final gallery? Use this as a starting point when selecting your photographer.

2. Look at their portfolio. When you are looking at a photographer’s portfolio, focus on the quality, not the quantity. Look for consistency amongst their website, blog, galleries and social media. This will give you the best idea of what your wedding gallery will look like! Consistency is key.

3. Make sure your personalities are compatible. We tell couples that you spend more time with your photographer on your wedding day than your spouse-to-be! Every photographer has a different approach to how they participate on your big day. The things that are important to you should be a part of their wedding day experience. Ultimately, you should feel a connection with them.

What are your favorite wedding moments to capture?

There are so many moments on a wedding day that it can feel impossible to pick a favorite! Husband and wife sunset portraits are the most important photos we take all day. But personally, Lindsay loves to capture quiet moments like stolen looks during the ceremony, tears rolling down cheeks and the just-married hugs behind the chapel. Brandon’s favorites are always candid laughs – when a groom whispers a joke in his bride’s ear and she can’t help but laugh!
